Ascension is looking for a Christian leader to fill our immediate opening for the Director of our Next Generation Preschool. Candidates will need to have their Director’s Certificate or be willing to pursue that certification. Part time afternoon aide positions are also available. Calling all musicians! We would love to add you to our praise team! If you are a vocalist or
instrumentalist of any kind, please get in touch with Nikki Febinger (254-396-0408) or Trish Scheler. We want to have at least two teams that rotate out each week, plus people who can step in and cover if someone is out sick or on vacation. No matter what you play (saxophone or banjo or accordion or anything else), we'd love to see where you fit with our team!
The LWML Trinity Zone workshop will be April 27th from 9:30am – 2:00pm at Peace Lutheran in Hurst. See Hazel Jacobs if you want to carpool.
Monday evening Women’s Bible Study will meet April 22nd for a pot blessing at 6:00pm at Mary Doebbeling’s home; she will give a presentation on herbs and gardening. Please let Mary know if you plan to attend. Meet at the church parking lot at 5:30pm to carpool as parking is limited at Mary’s home.
Volunteers needed! With two worship services, there are even more opportunities to serve! If you are willing to assist as an usher, greeter, or serve on the Altar or AV Team, please email the church office at church@ascensioncleburne.org or call 817-645-9452. Thank you!
The signup sheets for altar flowers and altar duty for 2024 are on the Information Bar in the Worship Center. Flower arrangements are $15.00 each and are delivered each week by Gonzales Floral. Payment may be placed in the offering. Altar duty is to prepare communion and the altar for Sunday and then to remove after worship. More details are available from Hazel Jacobs and posted in the kitchen.
Our two Concordia St. Louis Seminary adopt-a-students for this year are Travis Galle and John Simmons. Letters from them are on the bulletin board in the Fellowship Hall. Both receive mail at Campus Post Office Box, 801 Seminary Place, St. Louis, MO 63105-3196. They would love to hear from any of us!!!
Meal on Wheels of North Texas needs at least 15 volunteers plus substitutes to deliver meals. You may volunteer weekly or at least once a month; takes about 1-1 1⁄2 hours to make the deliveries. You may go to mownct.mowscheduler.com to submit the form to volunteer.
Ascension Scholarship - Please sign up for the Ascension Scholarship by sending an application to the Church office (church@ascensioncleburne.org). Applications are on the church website (ascensioncleburne.org) under “Home”, then “Scholarship”. The deadline for it to be completed and returned is May 20, 2024. Any Ascension member may apply if they are planning to attend or are attending a college or trade school. The money will be sent to the school on the application. Cafe' Sola is open on Sunday mornings for free coffee and free breakfast bars. Come for fellowship and attend our Adult Bible Class. Sunday School for our children is at 9:00am.
Everyone is invited to our Seekers Bible Study each Wednesday morning at 10:00am in the Fellowship Hall. Pastor Ben leads the study in 1 John.
The first Cleburne Community Hymn Sing will be on Sunday, May 5th at 5:00pm at Field Street Baptist Church. A time of fellowship will follow in the gym; bring a snack type food to share and meet fellow believers. Jim Davis, a praise team leader at a Cleburne church is the organizer of this event.
